Card grading & pre-gradingwith Next Grading, worldwide
Official Next Grading Authorised Dealer. Send us your cards from anywhere in the world, or bring them to our Mollet del Vallès store: we record everything, seal it and carry it by hand to the lab in Madrid and back. No courier in between.
Why we carry your cards by hand, there and back
There have been thefts of shipments sent to grading companies. With us your cards do not travel by courier: they go sealed and by hand to Next Grading, and come back the same way. The whole process is recorded and registered, from the moment you hand them over until you collect them.
There and back by hand
Your cards never travel by courier: we carry them sealed to Next Grading in Madrid and bring them back to our Mollet store.

- Carried by hand from our store to Next Grading in Madrid and back (Next Grading only).
- Pickup with ID, or with your signed authorisation.
Pre-grading: know if a card is worth grading
Grading costs money and takes months, so it pays to know first. In a pre-grading we measure and inspect each card (centering, corners, edges and surface) with the right equipment, explain the result and advise you on whether to grade it and which service to choose. Pre-grading is independent from grading: you can book either one on its own.
Measured study of centering, corners, edges and surface, with the explanation and our advice. Recorded on video.
In store, date set by us
The pre-grader groups appointments on scheduled days at our Mollet store and we cover the travel. We offer you the available dates.
In store, your date
Dedicated appointment: the pre-grader travels to our Mollet store just for you, on the date you choose. Plus 7 € per card.
Remote pre-grading
Send us the cards: free on a date we assign, or the 15 € remote handling fee on the date you choose (one fee per order, shared with remote grading). You receive the recorded video.
VIP · anywhere else
Pre-grading at your home, an event or any place other than our Mollet store, or dedicated advisory for large collections.
Pre-grading is a made-to-order service prepared for an agreed date, and the 20 € travel fee is paid to a third party, the pre-grader. Once the appointment is confirmed, the per-card fee and the travel fee are not refundable.
Official Next Grading grading
Next Grading certifies and encapsulates trading cards, sealed packs, booster boxes and collectibles at its operations centre in Madrid. Every item gets a condition grade, an authenticity check and a universal registration number.
Grade scale 0.5 to 10
Half-point grades up to 10 Gem Mint, plus NG (no grade) and COA (authentic, ungraded). A perfect 10 in every parameter earns the NEXT label.
Double evaluation
Manual inspection with digital microscopy, combined with AI-assisted analysis and an authenticity review.
Secure case
Reinforced acrylic, ultrasonic welding with no glue, double encapsulation, laser-engraved ID and invisible UV marking.
Medal Code
A colour code on the label shows at a glance whether the item is a 1st edition, first appearance, signed, limited or promotional.
Inside Next Grading
Next Grading is a Spanish grading company founded in 2023, with its operations centre in Madrid and a team of more than 25 people, six of them engineers. This is what makes its grading different:
Industrial metrology
Cards are scanned with a CMM and an optical scanner accurate to the micron (0.001 mm), the same kind of equipment used to inspect aerospace parts. Centering is measured by machine.
Maths plus expert judgement
Corners, edges, centering and surface are scored separately. Graders tell a real damage from a print imperfection, so a factory line is not punished like a dent, and the result stays within half a point.
Several graders per item
No card depends on one person: each one goes through a double or triple check. Graders are trained and certified by level, from junior to master.
Counterfeit detection
Registered printing rosette patterns, the microscopic dot pattern of each print run, help detect fakes that look perfect to the eye.
Cases built to last
Thick drop-tested acrylic, double encapsulation, and tamper-evident security seals that leave a mark if anyone tries to open them. Premium custom cases with permanent laser-applied colour.
Secure facility
Cameras on every floor and safes in the grading rooms.
Same care for every card
A 3 € card is graded with the same protocol as a 30,000 € one.

How it works
From the moment you hand them over until you get them back, sealed.
In person in Mollet
Hand-over, evaluation and collection in person take place only at our store in Mollet del Vallès (Carrer de Gaietà Ventalló 34), for now. We register and record everything with you there. No handling fee: you only pay the grading.
By post, from anywhere in the world
Close your order with us first, then send the material to our Mollet store. A remote order costs the grading price plus a single 15 € handling fee per order and 1 € per card for sorting and preparing them for shipment or collection at Next Grading (minimum 16 €). Shipments to us travel at your own risk. When your items are graded, collect them in Mollet or approve an insured return shipment at your cost.
From your hands to the slab
Book
pre-grading and/or grading. They are separate services; you can do one, the other or both.
Register
we photograph and record each card, fill in the official order sheet and you sign it.
Seal
the order is closed in security bags with numbered seals and kept in a secure area.
To the lab by hand
we carry your sealed order in person to Next Grading's headquarters in Madrid, usually once a month.
Grading
Next Grading processes orders in order of reception. Every card handled through Universe TCG has priority over an external customer.
Back by hand
we pick up your graded items in person at Next Grading in Madrid and bring them back to our Mollet store, where you collect them sealed with your ID. Or, only with your express approval, we send them to you insured at your cost.
How long does it take?
It depends on when you drop the cards off: if it is just before our monthly trip to Madrid they leave the next day; if it is just after, add up to about a month. Next Grading currently takes 2 to 3 months to grade, and it keeps improving those times. In a hurry? Approve an insured direct shipment and we send it straight away (from 5,90 € + ~1% of the insured value).
PSA, Beckett, CGC and more: coming soon
Today we work officially with Next Grading. We are preparing submissions to other major grading companies. Ask us and we will let you know when they open.
Conditions
- Remote orders must be closed with us before you send anything. We only take responsibility for material we have accepted to work on.
- Material sent to our store travels at the sender's risk. Recording starts when we receive it.
- No standard volume discounts. Large orders can be assessed individually when the shipment is closed through our store.
- Grades are issued by Next Grading. Pre-grading is an expert estimate, not a guarantee of the final grade.
- Appraisals can be remote or in person, by appointment and with prior payment.
- Pre-grading is a made-to-order service for an agreed date and the travel fee is paid to a third party: the 7 € per card and the 20 € travel fee are not refundable once the appointment is confirmed.
- Any shipment, to Next Grading or back to you, is optional, insured and at the customer's cost, and we only charge it after your express approval. Spain: 5,90 € + ~1% of the insured value. Outside Spain: our standard rate by weight + ~1% insurance, quoted per order.
- Bookings are open now. Appointments and the first trip with orders to Next Grading start on 1 November 2026.

Why choose a Spanish grading company?
Your cards are graded in Madrid, inside the EU, with support in Spanish and English. Once they reach us they do not travel by courier: we carry them by hand to the lab in Madrid and bring them back by hand to our store.
What is card grading?
Grading is the professional evaluation of a card's condition by an independent company, which gives it a grade and seals it in a tamper-evident case with a registration number. It protects the card and makes its condition verifiable for buyers.
How much does grading a card cost at Universe TCG?
We charge the official Next Grading prices: 24,90 € per card, 124,50 € for 5 cards, and packs of 15+1, 30+2, 60+4 and 100+7 with free gradings. If you send your cards by post, add a single 15 € handling fee per order plus 1 € per card for sorting and preparation.
What is pre-grading and how much does it cost?
Pre-grading is our measured assessment of a card before you pay for grading: centering, corners, edges and surface. It costs 7 € per card. At our Mollet store it is free of travel cost on the dates we set, or 20 € more for a dedicated appointment on the date you choose. Remote pre-grading costs 0 € extra on a date we assign, or the 15 € remote handling fee if you choose the date (the same single fee as remote grading), and includes a video with the explanation.
When does the service start?
Bookings are open now. Appointments and the first trip with orders to Next Grading start on 1 November 2026.
Can the pre-grader come to my home or event?
Yes, as a VIP service quoted on request. The standard prices (0 € or 20 € travel) only cover appointments at our Mollet store.
Can you send my graded cards back to me?
Yes, if you prefer not to collect them in Mollet. Shipping is insured, at your cost, and charged only after you approve it expressly: in Spain 5,90 € + about 1% of the insured value; outside Spain our standard rate by weight + about 1% insurance, quoted per order.
Is pre-grading refundable?
No. It is a service prepared for an agreed date and the travel fee is paid to a third party, so the 7 € per card and the 20 € travel fee are not refundable once the appointment is confirmed.
Do I have to pre-grade before grading?
No. Pre-grading and grading are independent services. You can send cards straight to grading, or pre-grade them first to decide which ones are worth it.
How long does Next Grading take?
Next Grading currently takes about 2 to 3 months to grade. Add up to a month depending on when you drop off your cards relative to our monthly trip to Next Grading in Madrid, unless you choose insured direct shipping.
Why grade through Universe TCG instead of sending cards myself?
Your cards do not travel by courier: we record everything, seal the order and carry it by hand to Next Grading in Madrid and back to our store, with priority processing as an official point. It is safer and usually cheaper than insuring a shipment on your own.
Where can I drop off my cards?
In person, only at our store in Mollet del Vallès (Carrer de Gaietà Ventalló 34, 08100, Barcelona, Spain) for now: hand-over, evaluation and collection all happen there. From anywhere else in the world, close your order with us and send the cards by post to that store.
Do you grade with PSA, Beckett or CGC?
Not yet. We currently work officially with Next Grading, and submissions to other grading companies are coming soon.
Which items can Next Grading grade?
Trading cards (Pokémon, One Piece, Magic, Dragon Ball, Lorcana, sports cards and more), sealed packs, booster boxes and ETBs, Funko Pop!, figures, video games and other collectibles.
