Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME launches worldwide in June 2027, and Bandai has already shown how it plays. You build a deck around a Leader, spend Chakra to activate hidden support cards, and win by reducing the opposing Leader's Life to 0. For release details and products, see our Naruto Card Game guide.
What Is the Naruto Card Game?
Described as a strategic trading card game spanning all three anime eras — Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations — the Naruto Card Game combines original illustrations by various artists with artwork from the anime and manga. Early reveals already show fan favourites including Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Jiraiya, Itachi Uchiha and Tsunade.
How to Play the Naruto Card Game
Bandai's summary says you battle with "a deck of 51 cards, 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card", built around a Leader. You win by reducing the opposing Leader's Life to 0. The full rulebook isn't out yet, so we don't know how those numbers break down. These are the five card types:
- Leader Card — the heart of your deck; its colour determines which cards and strategies you can build around.
- Character Card — your front line, chosen by your Leader's colour. Some can activate Ninjutsu by paying a Chakra cost.
- Chakra Card — needed to activate support cards such as Ninjutsu.
- EX Character Card — powerful units that, once certain conditions are met, can swing the whole game.
- Summon Card — the card you rest to bring one of your Characters onto the field.
If you've played the One Piece Card Game, the Leader-driven, life-to-zero structure will feel instantly familiar — but the Chakra resource system and Summon mechanic give Naruto its own identity.
Naruto Card Game Card Designs & Reveals
Art is the soul of any TCG, and Bandai is leaning hard into Naruto's two decades of iconic imagery. The reveals blend crisp new illustrations with dynamic manga-panel backgrounds and holographic treatments.
Where to Try It Before Launch
Bandai ran Tutorial Sessions through 2026 at Gen Con, Spiel Essen, Paris Games Week and Lucca Comics & Games, among others. Next up for European players are BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest London (15–17 January 2027) and the Premier Demo Events at participating stores, from 5 February 2027. Is This Naruto Mythos?
No. Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME and Naruto Mythos are separate games from different companies. Naruto Mythos, from Cicaboom, is already on sale, while Bandai's game launches in June 2027. Our comparison sets out the differences, including Kayou's cards.
