If you're new to One Piece Card Game, the "EB" sets can be confusing. Here's what Extra Boosters actually are, why they behave differently from main sets — and why sealed EB product has a habit of disappearing.
Extra Boosters vs Main Sets
Main sets (OP-01 through OP-17 Kingdom of Elbaf) carry the core card pool each meta season. Extra Boosters sit between main releases and serve a different purpose: concentrated alt-arts, specialty chase cards, and targeted reprints. Smaller print runs, shorter windows, heavier collector demand.
Why EB Sets Sell Out
- Smaller allocation: Bandai prints EB sets in lower volume than main sets, and distributors receive allocation cuts when demand spikes
- Chase density: the hit-per-box ratio on desirable cards is typically higher, so players and collectors both buy in
- No restock culture: once the initial run sells through, EB sets rarely see meaningful reprints — sealed prices trend up
How Allocation Works (And Why Pre-Ordering Early Matters)
Stores order EB product months ahead; when Bandai flags a set as high-demand, distributor allocations get cut and stores receive less than they ordered. Pre-orders placed early sit highest in the queue. This is exactly the situation with the current pair of releases.
Current Extra Boosters: EB-05 & EB-06 — Pre-Orders Open
